A complete assessment, start to finish.
This is a full Folia site assessment for a real property. Nothing is withheld or summarized. It runs more than 60 pages, and it is the fastest way to understand what the analysis actually produces.
What you are looking at
The land, read once and honestly. Terrain, soil, climate, winter hardiness, water and hazards. Slope, aspect, relief, cold-air drainage, drainage lines, soil units, growing degree days, frost window, flood and wetland screens.
Property maps built from your ground. Soil map units, topography and water, cold-air pooling traced through a 1 m LiDAR canopy model, and a ray-traced afternoon sun and shade model that sees the timber actually shading your blocks.
Your varieties, tested against your land. Each selection taken in turn: which gates it clears, how cleanly the ground meets its needs, what it will ask of you, and where on the property it belongs.
Establishment economics. Cost per acre, time to first harvest, yield and revenue ranges, and a cash position from planting through maturity. Presented as ranges, because that is what the data supports.
Field worksheets. What the report modeled, printed beside room for what you measure. Take them into the field and confirm the model against your own ground.
What the report does not tell you. The gaps, stated plainly, so you know where this document ends and a soil pit, a county office, or a season on the ground begins.
Read the marks
Every value shows how firmly it is known.
Every value in the report carries a mark for its confidence: sourced, derived, modeled, estimate, or unknown. Unknown is a real answer here, and where a source cannot answer, the report says so and leaves the gap visible rather than filling it.
Worth watching for as you read: the report is willing to say a variety does not fit, and willing to say it does not know. Both are the point.
